Dear Palak,
I went to Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah the other day.
I came to Delhi for an award ceremony. The organisation I work for was nominated for the award in a certain category and since I was the one who wrote the case study and white paper and all other things that got us nominated, the CEO asked me to join the team attending the ceremony.
However, I skipped the ceremony and went to the Dargah today. It is believed that if you ask anything from your heart at this Dargah, then it will definitely come true.
It’s funny. I am a non-believer. But your silent treatment to me has made me so desperate that I am praying.
Anyway, I asked for two things:
- We win the award, because it’s been a while since I did something worth celebrating at work
- You talk to me, because you mean the world to me and I can’t bear your silence
While I was still at the Dargah, I got a call from the VP of my team, “Where the fuck are you? We won the award…”
It felt like a part of my prayer was answered and I truly thought the other part would be answered too…
Anyway, on my way to the award ceremony, I met with an accident. Long story short, I was admitted to the hospital and was in the ICU for 2 days.
I am fine now. But during those two days, all I could think of was whether or not I would ever get to meet you one last time…
I know you feel scared and betrayed and violated. I just wish time heals all the wounds I have caused you and that we meet someday.
I hope you don’t punish me for loving you…
With love, hugs and other things,
P
